Karen Larkin Packwood is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) who has been practicing since 2011. She has also been certified as a counselor Trauma Professional and Chemical Dependency Professional (CDP). She works at several local schools and the community with children and adults experiencing emotional and behavioral disorders, with Learning Disorders, Attention Deficit Disorders and Behavioral Disorders. She has a wide range of life and educational experiences rooted in helping individuals, families, and couples from a variety of backgrounds and age demographics. She has a clinical interest in Narrative Therapy, which is an approach interested in how we tell stories of our lives and how this telling shapes who we are and how we become and she places great value in honoring and privileging an individual's personal story composed of lived experiences-memories, knowledge, skills, talents, ideas, morals, personal ethics, and beliefs. She uses an eclectic style of evidence based therapeutic techniques to help individuals resolve a variety of mental health and personal issues that may include Solution Focused Behavioral Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Client-Centered Therapy.
Personal interests include Integrative Behavioral Health & Wellness centered in healthy nutritional eating promoting an anti-inflammatory lifestyle, which many are now saying makes us healthier in mind and body. This type of non-pharmaceutical intervention for depression, anxiety, bipolar, ADHD and chronic pain are strategies that can be integrated with pharmaceutical interventions that can facilitate better treatment outcomes in depression, anxiety, bipolar, ADHD and chronic pain In her free time, she enjoys hiking, running, biking and generally being active. She also loves discussing topics related to Memory Retention, Lasting Memories & Creative Learning, Yoga, Pilates, Nutrition, Science, Arts, Music, and Traveling. She has an avid interest in learning about the mind-body connection and how this incorporates into a better, healthier life journey for all age groups.

Karen Larkin Packwood has been a personal trainer since 1983 and has studied the human anatomy and physiology to better understand the human body and how it relates to the mind. She has extensive studies on trauma and how trauma creates disease and dysfunction in the body and the mind and teaching the fundamentals on good nutrition. She incorporates a holistic approach to healing the mind and body and living a "whole-hearted" life.
